Patti – Sweet, Silly, and Full of Wiggles

*** ALERT!!  Adoption Fee Reduced to $200!!***

Patti was born right here at WDRR back in May, and she has been charming hearts ever since. She may be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her a little time and you’ll discover a loyal, happy girl whose entire body wiggles with excitement when she sees her favorite people.

This absolute sweetheart loves spending time outdoors, especially running around the yard chasing squirrels or playing a fun game of fetch. She adored her previous senior foster sister and kitty brother and always tried her best to convince them to join her in puppy play. On walks, she’s curious about other dogs and would likely love a playful sibling to romp around with.

Patti has a special love for squeaky toys and will proudly bring you every single toy from her toy box, wiggling the whole way as she shows off her treasures. When playtime is over, she’s all about the snuggles. She loves curling up in bed, soaking up pets, and earning treats — which makes training a breeze. She already knows sit, down, heel, and more, and she’s eager to keep learning.

Patti would thrive with a dedicated partner who will take her on regular walks and provide a fenced yard where she can safely roam, run, and enjoy being her joyful self.

If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion with a loyal heart and the cutest full-body wiggle, Patti is ready to meet you.

Something to Consider:

Puppies don't train themselves

If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.

Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.

This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”

If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.

The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.

And… if you just ‘honest to God’ love puppies and wish they never turned into dogs, we have a great option for you – you can foster puppies! You get to help a life in need, get all the fun that comes along with puppies, and never have to have a dog! WIN, WIN!!! Please visit our fostering page for more information.
