***ADOPTION FEE REDUCTION – Ody’s adoption fee has been lowered to $150!!***
Ody is a handsome young male American Bulldog mix with a sweet, gentle soul and a heart full of loyalty. At 1–3 years young, Ody is a medium-sized boy (26–60 lbs) who is fully house-trained, neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and completely ready to trade rescue life for a peaceful home where he can be the star of the show.
Ody is the ultimate low-key companion. Quiet, smart, and delightfully goofy, his absolute favorite place in the world is right beside you on the sofa. He leans heavily into his inner “couch potato” and loves nothing more than taking long, cozy naps, showing off his funny personality, and soaking up quality time with his favorite human. If you’re looking for a calm, well-mannered shadow to keep you company throughout the day, Ody fits the bill perfectly.
Because Ody prefers to soak up 100% of your love and attention, he is looking for a special home where he can be your one-and-only pet (no dogs, cats, or other animals). Being the single prince of the house allows Ody to truly shine, relax, and build an unbroken, intensely loyal bond with his forever person or family.
Ody is an exceptionally affectionate, quiet, and devoted best friend who asks for so little—just a soft couch, a warm heart, and a peaceful home to call his own. In return, he will give you a lifetime of unwavering loyalty, smiles, and unconditional love.
If you’re searching for a sweet, quiet, and deeply loving solo companion to share cozy days with—Ody is ready to come home!

Something to Consider:
Puppies don't train themselves
If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.
Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.
Puppies turn into dogs...
This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”
If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.
The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.
And… if you just ‘honest to God’ love puppies and wish they never turned into dogs, we have a great option for you – you can foster puppies! You get to help a life in need, get all the fun that comes along with puppies, and never have to have a dog! WIN, WIN!!! Please visit our fostering page for more information.
