1 YearMeet Kimber – An Affectionate, Gentle, and Sweet “Couch Potato” Ready for Her Forever Home!
Kimber’s story is one of incredible resilience, and now she is completely ready for the happy ending she so deeply deserves. When she was found as a stray, Kimber was heartbreakingly emaciated—weighing a fragile 35 pounds, covered in scars, and missing most of her coat. Through dedicated care, proper nutrition, and endless love, Kimber has undergone a breathtaking transformation into a healthy, gorgeous 65-pound girl with a shiny coat and a spirit that shines even brighter.
At just over a year old, Kimber is believed to be a unique Malinois and Pit Bull Terrier mix, but don’t let her breed mix fool you—this girl leans heavily into her inner “couch potato”! While she possesses a smart and loyal mind, her absolute favorite activities include curling up on a plush sofa, taking long naps, and soaking up every single cuddle and kiss she can get. Fully house-trained, quiet, and gentle, Kimber brings a calm, easygoing presence to any home.
Kimber is a social butterfly who fits seamlessly into a household. She is currently fostered alongside three other large dogs, getting along wonderfully with her canine foster siblings, and has proven to be fantastic with children. She is an exceptionally friendly, funny, and affectionate soul who simply thrives on human connection and being an integral part of a loving family.
Kimber has overcome incredible odds and holds zero grudges about her past. She is a loyal, deeply loving best friend who asks for very little in return—just a soft place to rest her head, plenty of affection, and a family to call her own for the rest of her days.
If you’re searching for a sweet, quiet, and devoted cuddle bug who will shower you with unconditional love and gratitude—Kimber is ready to come home.

Something to Consider:
Puppies don't train themselves
If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.
Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.
Puppies turn into dogs...
This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”
If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.
The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.
And… if you just ‘honest to God’ love puppies and wish they never turned into dogs, we have a great option for you – you can foster puppies! You get to help a life in need, get all the fun that comes along with puppies, and never have to have a dog! WIN, WIN!!! Please visit our fostering page for more information.
